Mahsa is a Clinical Research Assistant at the Neuromuscular Centre, where she works closely with Dr. Hanns Lochmüller’s clinical research team at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). With a Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from Iran (2016) and a Master’s in Genetic Counselling from Italy (2022), Mahsa brings a unique, interdisciplinary perspective to the field of Neurology. Her graduate research explored cutting-edge Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) applications for Monogenic Disorders.Mahsa is passionate about bridging science and patient care, with a special focus on rare Neuromuscular Disorders. She is driven by a commitment to discovery, innovation, and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by these conditions. Mahsa combines scientific curiosity with a deep sense of empathy in every project she takes on — working to make a difference, one study at a time.In recognition of her dedication to research excellence and patient care, Mahsa is honored with the Gratitude Award Pin from The Ottawa Hospital(TOH).With Dr. Hanns Lochmüller, Mahsa is excited to coordinate various clinical trials for emerging new therapies in Neuromuscular Disorders.
