A native of Mexico City, Rosa studied and pursued a career in Obstetrics, Reproductive Biology and Hospital Administration. In 2012, she moved to Ottawa where she studied Biotechnology and Regulatory Affairs.
Rosa joined the Research Industry in 2015 at the Bruyere Research Institute. Later on, she had the opportunity to work for the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and later with Dr Hugh McMillan’s Neuromuscular Research team at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). In 2019, after a few months of working at the Cannabis Branch of Health Canada, she was promoted to research manager and joined the research teams of Dr. Lochmüller and Dr. McMillan at CHEO. Rosa is excited about working with Dr. Lochmüller and his team to start a new phase of research, specifically clinical trials and bringing new therapies to help children and adults who suffer from neuromuscular Diseases.
Outside of research, Rosa enjoys spending time with her family and teaching her three children to develop a love of learning and to constantly challenge themselves to be better every day.
