Lochmüller Lab in the annual Cycle for CHEO

On May 5th, Lochmüller lab & Friends completed the annual Cycle for CHEO ride in Ottawa. They rode as part of a 45 strong CHEO Researchers in Motion Team that together raised more than $11,000. The local police and over 500 volunteers helped with road closures and support throughout the course, which ran through downtown Ottawa, and consisted of mainly flat surfaces with the occasional pothole thrown in for good measure.

This amazing event was organised to help raise funds for children and youth at CHEO hospital. Every year at CHEO 75 children are diagnosed with cancer, with the oncology team treating close to 200 patients annually. Money raised through events like these goes towards hospital equipment, research, play equipment, family support and many other programs important for the care of kids with cancer.
